Physiotherapy

The goal with physio is to improve the function of the affected/injured area with treatment through carefully designed exercise protocols to improve body awareness.

Dr. Tyrrell (Ty) Ashcroft is a graduate of Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, in Toronto. She received her undergraduate education in Kinesiology and Science at the University of Western Ontario where she graduated with distinction. She has since focused her continuing education on sports specific therapies. Dr. Ty, as patients refer to her, has completed McMaster’s Medical Acupuncture program and the Acupuncture for Sports Injuries specialty. She is an avid golfer and is TPI certified (Titelist Professional Instructor). She has attained full body Master’s status in ART, and has been a certified Active Release Techniques provider helping hundreds of runners and triathletes. She has completed postgraduate placements in advanced diagnostic imaging at Humber River Hospital, and works closely with MDs, PTs, RMTs, orthopedic surgeons and sport physicians. Dr. Ty has been the on-set chiropractor for various performing arts groups such as the National Ballet of Canada, the cast of Mamma Mia, to various recording artists, and television celebrities.

Dr. Thien Dang-Tan trained at the U.S. President’s Hospital and the National Naval Medical Center (NNMC) in Bethesda, MD. NNMC residency is one of its kind and a premier opportunity for applying chiropractic clinical knowledge in an integrative patient care setting. Dr. Dang-Tan completed continuing education at Harvard Medical School in Integrative and Complementary Medicine. He has presented worldwide, including research on neurophysiology at Johns Hopkins Medicine, and the Institute of Applied Science and Medicine. Dr. Dang-Tan has specialized training in whiplash disorders, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries from the Spine Research Institute of San Diego. Dr. Vicko Ma is a graduate of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. He received his Bachelor of Science with Specialization in Biology from Queen’s University. He was introduced to chiropractic after injuring his back while competing in high school volleyball. He was curious with how his injury happened and how to prevent future episodes so he can continue to compete. His movement-based approach to treatment follows this curiosity by thoroughly assessing for the cause of your injury and integrate restorative movements, joint mobilizations, soft tissue therapy, medical acupuncture (McMaster University) to help you recover, and build strength and mobility to keep you injury-free. My passion for helping people led me to my current career. My goal is to make the most positive impact that I can with the people I work with, helping them achieve their desired goals whilst facilitating them throughout the process. Having completed my Masters in Sports Rehabilitation, I have gained knowledge and experience in musculoskeletal injury prevention and injury rehabilitation across a number of sports and physical activities. This has allowed me to work with a number of sports teams, athletes and the general population. I am also a Certified Special Population Specialist, which has led me to work with special populations across a number of health related conditions. I value utilizing preventative strategies to not only improve overall performance and overall wellbeing but also reduce the risk factors across a number of health related conditions. I get great satisfaction in helping people become more physically independent and help boost their self-esteem. Whilst working with people with health related conditions; I have witnessed the benefits of physical activity has on both physical health and psychological wellbeing. Meet Jason – Helping You Move, Feel, and Live Better

Jason is a Registered Physiotherapist who’s passionate about helping people feel their best and get back to doing what they love - whether that’s going for a walk along the boardwalk, playing with the kids, lifting at the gym, or just moving through the day with ease.

He holds a Master of Physical Therapy from Western University and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo. Jason takes a patient-centered approach, making sure you feel heard, supported, and involved in your recovery every step of the way.

His treatments are grounded in evidence-based care and are tailored to each person’s goals. Sessions often include a blend of hands-on therapy, personalized exercises, and education- so you understand your body and feel confident managing your progress.

Jason is committed to lifelong learning and has completed advanced training in Acupuncture, Dry Needling, and is rostered in Spinal Manipulation. He’s also completed Level 2 of the Orthopaedic Division’s Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Program to support people with more complex pain or movement issues.

When he’s not working with patients, Jason enjoys being outdoors, playing sports, weightlifting, discovering new restaurants, and cheering on the Toronto Raptors.
